One year with Merlin

Today is a special day. I know it might be silly but to me it feels bigger than any birthday I can remember, becuase today is the one year anniversary with Merlin.

Exactly a year ago, I sat down to watch the first episode, looking for nothing more than a bit of temporary distraction, not knowing what I was about to watch would turn out to be the one thing to impact me mora than anything before, the only exception being Harry Potter.

When I started watching Merlin I wasn’t a very happy person. Last summer was one of the worst of my life for reasons that doesn’t matter anymore but through all of that Merlin became my closest friend. I think the reason I am so emotionally attached to Merlin as a TV show was that I started watching it at a time where I literally had nothing else in my life and it became my everything. 

Now I am happier than I have ever been with where I am with my life, but Merlin still has such a great hold on me that I could never look back or cast it away.

I’ve always been a fan - a hysteric one at that - but you could say that Merlin is my first fandom. Merlin is the first fandom I have interacted with and contributed to to this extend. I dabbled in Sherlock, Avengers, American Horror Story, created two or three fanarts for each, read the occasional one shot porn drabble - but Merlin is the first fandom that has sucked me up - engaged me - and kept me wanting to engage.

In the last 6 months I have drawn over 30 fanarts, I have read 120 fanfictions and spent countless hours discussing the show. It has pushed me to develop artistically like nothing else ever have. I have also made friends. I have never made friends in any fandom before, not like this. I have no doubt that this is the fandom for me. I have found it. I will never find anything like this and I don’t want to.

This is a really soppy and stupid post but this is my thank you to Merlin. And to all of you.

One year.

You’re the only fandom I have and I couldn’t bare to lose you.

Selling Prints?

I am looking into selling prints of my Merlin fanarts after someone asked about it recently, so just out of curiosity,

If I sold Merlin Fanart Prints, would you consider buying one?

I would print them at school (in very high quality) and sell them on etsy so I could sell them alot cheaper than deviantart/society6, probably £2 for A5, £4 for A4, £6 for A3, (£8 for A2 for those of high enough resolution) plus shipping. 

Also, is there any particular drawing you would want a print of? I would be willing to add any of my drawings on request.

Ah, thanks! Yeah I think I’ll draw the cloth on a separate layer and post the clothed one as the official one but then have a ‘click here for nsfw version’ at the end :) or something. I’ve learn from experience that people are more hesitant to reblog drawings when there are penises.

So, I know it took me ages but I’ve finally started on the drawing for the 400 followers drawing giveaway (it took so long that I’m nearly at 500 already damn)

The winner is blissbubbles who requested Merlin and Arthur as Greek Gods. Eros and Apollo, more specifically. Obviously a long way to go before this is finished but I thought I might show off the first sketch :) Tell me what you think so far! :)
